About
Transcience

"Transience" unfolds in dual perspectives, beckoning viewers to live in the moment and appreciate the fleeting nature of each passing instant. The artwork embraces the enigma of moments as the transient dance of joy and sorrow —lessons to teach, and paths to illuminate. Initially conceived in a moment of anxiousness, the piece evolved on a happier day, revealing a sense of the renewed: to experience happiness, one must embrace sorrow first. Hence, the narrative's fluidity lies in the hands of the viewer, the personal journey of choice and emotional exploration. For instance, the sequence of happiness followed by sadness reflects the viewer's fear of their happiness ending. Conversely, choosing sadness followed by happiness suggests the viewer's hope for an end to their sorrow. The illustration, characterized by hand-drawn strokes, captures raw emotions pre-rationalization, while the background wallpaper, vibrant with happiness or steeped in stillness, adds emotional depth. Colour, itself reinforces the emotional states and their relation to each other: bright versus dark, and cool versus warm, along with mixed connotations, the way red can represent love but also anger or violence. The consistent setting anchors the narrative - same place, same compositions-—where only the interpretations change based on the viewers perspective.

Narrative 1: Hold On

In the dance of moments, heed the song,

Unseen treasures vanish, before too long.

Keep what you have, lest it fade away.

For in neglect, you seal its fate.

Narrative 2: Hope

In the shadows of sorrow, we often dwell.

Forgetting joy follows, breaking the spell.

No sadness endures unless we choose,

In its fleeting grasp, happiness renews.
